Hire A Tradesman was founded by Rob Harris in 2007 – Rob’s vision was to give local communities a convenient ‘one-stop shop’ for all trade related services.
To be the best provider of good quality, local, reliable and reasonably priced tradespeople in Australia.
To provide outstanding personalised service to both clients and tradespeople by matching jobs to the trades that are best suited to that type of work.
Within a short period of time Hire A Tradesman built a reputation for referring good quality local trades at reasonable prices.
By only referring trades to clients that have been “invited” to join the franchisee’s group, Hire A Tradesman makes each tradesman accountable.
This is a truly unique service – customers do not pick from a list or search through a database of tradespeople. Instead, each franchisee within each area personally matches every job to an already ‘tried and tested’ tradesman within the franchisee’s area.
This also ensures that each Hire A Tradesman franchisee is able to manage the entire process from your initial job enquiry to job completion. It ensures the process is seamless and always conducted in a professional manner. Above all it ensures the job is completed quickly, correctly and with minimum disruption to the client.
Our tradespeople are invited to join us and must follow the Hire A Tradesman strict code of conduct. This means our clients are contacted promptly, their needs are assessed quickly, problems rectified swiftly and no job left incomplete.
In addition to this the work must be of the highest standard possible that not only reflects the budget but also the wishes of our clients’ and premises must always be left in the condition they were found in.

Our tradespeople must demonstrate appropriate skill levels in their chosen trade and commit to Continual Professional Development on a regular basis. They must have the appropriate insurance coverage and the correct certification.
What happens when you send us your details?
Our administration team contacts the relevant tradesman when you give us your job and contact details. That tradesman then has the option of accepting or rejecting the work. The tradesman that accepts the job contacts you.
That way you only deal with the trades that genuinely want to do your job.
